Upgrade Suggestions

looking for advice on weather I could do any decent upgrades without having to do a whole new build. Looking to increase my performance for gaming
current specs are:
Case: Cooler Master K350 Gaming Case MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
CPU:intel Core i5-3470 New Ivy Bridge GPU: Gigabyte ATI HD 7870 OC Edition
PSU: Corsair TX650M RAM:G.Skill DDR3-1600 2x4GB

Graphics card upgrade would be a noticeable improvement. Got a budget? Something like an RX 480 or GTX 1060 would be a good option.

I'd go with Darren's suggestion. If you're going to shell out for another CPU you might as well roll it into the newer platform. I believe 3770 are still >$200 on the eBays.

An extra 4 or 8GB of RAM might not be a terrible idea if you can snag some cheap. I see my usage exceed 8GB pretty consistently now.

I think I'll get some more RAM and then spend a bit on upgrading my graphics card that way in the future i can upgrade both my motherboard and cpu while having a decent GPU already. Do you think the 650W power supply will still be enough if i get Something around the GTX 1060 or RX480?

Ah, you live in Australia. Then the R9 Fury probably isn't on the same deep discount the US is seeing. Proceed with the choice of the 1060 or the RX 480.

I'd get the 6GB variant if at all possible. In addition to more VRAM it actually has more CUDA cores than the 3G version.

yeah I've decided its worth to spend extra now as I wont be buying a new graphics card in a long time after this. I've found 4 cards around the same price for me and have no idea which is better or if they are mostly the same.
