I dunno about that socket 754... No doubt an Athlon beats a Sempron, but would the upgrade be worth it? IMO, no... New motherboard, RAM, and CPU would be my best suggestion..

I would save money for a whole new pc.. but more memory will be better than a new micro... IMO.
and video upgrade will help too, but as I said, I would wait and save....

im gonna build a new rig later next year, just want to enjoy while waitin...

just want to enjoy while waitin... just a cheap upgrade of about $80,acethegamer, adding more to that system is like kicking a dead horse. with that socket theres only so much performance you can get from that system. lets say you were to buy an 8800 ultra and the best ram money can buy, even the best CPU for that socket is going to bottleneck the hell out of your system. youd be much better off just buying a motherboard that accomdates the latest socket for intel or amd, something with 1333fsb support, pcie2.0 support etc, so that it is as futureproof as possible

Computers are expensive, And money doesn't grow on trees. He says he'll upgrade later next year, till then, a RAM upgrade will be your best bet, as it's your biggest bottleneck. An extra GB.
ya i would just buy some ram for now..if your planning a build next year and your pc is working for you at the moment..ram!!! i still use my athlon 2100+ agp Nvidia fx 5500 rig for a teamspeak server muahhhh love that old rig!!*( Use it and never let it go)!! heh

Yeah, thats right, thats what happened to me, I have a 939 and now I'll have to upgrade everything to AM2... Its all good though, its going to be faster.
