Upgrade Thinkpad 600X?

I currently have a Thinkpad(the one in my sig). I was thinking of saving up and buying a ibook for about $400-500. Or, I can upgrade this. Here is my upgrade plan.

1)Install a new CMOS Battery
2)Install a new keyboard(the one I have is starting to break)
3)Max out the RAM and have 576 MB.

With my estimation I think it will run me $80-100. The annoying part is my computer can only handle 256 MB per slot. So I would need 2 of those plus there is already 64 MB built in which is not removable. What should I do?

So it is not worth it? Do you think I could make $150 off it even though the keyboard is messed up and it needs a new cmos battery?

So, even if you got 50-100 for it for it for parts, your better of with something newer that has built in wireless, usb etc..
The cmos battery is cheap to replace if you decide to go that route but your looking at replacing a ten year old keyboard with another 10 year old keyboard and that's a crapshoot at best.

You have a point. I was looking at Computer Geeks and I found a nice dell for $300. I do not think I am going to waste my money on fixing it up. Plus, The processor slow and ancient. I am trying to avoid getting a new PC because I do not want Windows Vista.

Do you think I will actually make $150 for it? That is what I bought it for. But, the flaws are 1)Main and CMOS battery dead 2)keyboard needs replacing
