Upgrade worth it?

I'm not exactly sure if this upgrade would be worth it, but I want to upgrade to a DX10 GPU really badly, and this one caught my eye

I was wondering if the performance difference between my current card (X1900XTX) would be sufficient enough to justify the $300 price tag for the 8800GTS. Or should I wait and buy a 8800GTX or a 2900XT when the price goes down?
 
There is no reason to upgrade X1900XTX because it is still a good video card that can play most games on high settings.....

I would wait for 9800 series which supposed to come late this year
 
Ya I see what you guys are saying, I was just looking at Tom's Hardware GPU charts and the X1900XTX is in the top 10, sometimes the top 5, for all their benchmarks.
 
With such a high performing card you should hold on to it. There aren't many DX10 games out so it would be just a waste of money to jump on the DX10 bandwagon now. I'm waiting till Crysis comes out before upgrading to a DX10 card.
 
Even now DX10 games dont look much different when they are running in DX9 mode, so theres no need to upgrade yet. I would wait for the 8900 series before upgrading.
