I didn't have any elmer's, so i used gum. I didn't have any vice clamps so i broke of the clips of some clipboards...

which begs another question...would my processor support a 64 bit OS to begin with?

"AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-64 / 2.2 GHz" The 64 there shows the cpu is 32bit with 64bit support for 64bit OSs. For the time the cpus even the latest are still 32/64. Once everything has gone 64bit then you will start seeing dedicated 64bit models coming out for consumer products(laptops and desktops alike).
HP's information was sadly lacking without having a serial number to work with on finding the actual specifications on the older model you have. The dv9000 CTO was the only one of the four models seeing any of that.
