I have a Sony VAIO PCG-K4x Laptop and it came with 512 mb of RAM (256 x 2) and Windows XP. The manual says the mother board can be upgraded to 1GB of Ram (512 x 2). I installed the the 512 x 2 of RAM but it only recognizes 256 x 2 mb. I ran PC wizard and it sees the 512 x 2 of RAM, but shows that only 256 mb is reading per stick. I went into the BIOS and it is only showing 256 x 2 and it will not let me manually change the RAM settings. Any ideas?
