ok so i have been toying with the idea of upgrading toa core 2 duo system for a month or so now, and in the end of put me sensible hat on and decided i just dont need it and it would be foolish to spend the extra money. I would have no use for a dual core system at the moment and to do it would mean swapping just about everything.

so for now im gonna stick with My skt 939 and upgrade that a little, but for less than the core 2 duo plan

So the following changes to be made

CPU - from Atlhon 64 3200+ to Althlon 64 4000+

GFX - from Radeon 9550 to X850 pro

and popping a thermaltake sonic tower on for a cooler

Just wondering what kind of performance increase people think i will see from this, is there any way to quantify it?

1gb at the moment, probably up that to 2gb in the next few weeks, also add a 5th HDD at some point as space is getting low.

core2duo-i sold my old pc to fund this build, best thing i everdone-used an old crappy laptop to get me bye.....

but i did toy with a socket 939 3.7san diego was good value for money but its your money

cant be arsed faffing selling me old pc, got about 5 here at the moment dating back to my AMD K6 400mhz :P

This way works out at least £200 cheaper and thats based on some budget parts for a core 2 duo build.

As said before i just dont think i need to upgrade that far, this system as is does pretty much all i need, just wanted to update a little :)
