upgrading a macbook

so im considering about getting a 2.0GHz macbook and they give you a choice between 1gb 2x 512mb for no additional cost, or 2gb 2x 1gb for an addional 175.
i know that having a 1gb is better 2x 512, but isnt the extra 175 a little overboard? i mean, couldnt i get the 2x 512 and then just buy a 1gb in stores or something? problem is, idk which rams would be compatible with the macbook. i was thinking this one would be compatible?



and also, im also debating whether or not i should go 2gb at all. here is what im primarily going to use my macbook for: typing hw, music, ilife(which is like photo editing and video editing), and this game i have called The Movies. probably the most heavy program i'll be running is the video edditing. will getting a 2gb over 1gb make a huge difference over my macbooks performance? i doubt it but i just want to make sure.

edit:is it easy opening up a macbook and inserting the ram?

$175 extra ! That is crazy, upgrade the RAM yourself, find a compatible Ram module with your motherboard and i bet you can get 2gb of ram around $89.99.
 
If you buy your macbook at a store, ask them if you can sell them back the 1gb of RAM and then buy the 2gb of RAM. That's what I did (i got the 2.16 version). They bought my 2x 512mb back for $175 and sold me the 2gb for $290 so it turned out to be only $125 for the 2gb of RAM total. Still a bit but 50 bucks cheaper :)

290 for 2gb?? i saw stores were selling them for about 100 or less.

ok so i still have some unanswered questions:
