Ive posted before about upgrading quite a recent pc, now i want to upgrade my old one in the storage room for my little brother. The things he will be doing most is Minecraft, Crossfire (online game) .. pretty much looking for a decent upgrade that will play quite a range of games (but not the latest ones like BF3 etc).

here are specs:

OS: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1312MHz
Memory: 256MB RAM
PSU: Codegen 350xa 350W
GPU: Infineon (picture)

& i dont want to spend too much as again, its an old computer i no longer used but thought it would be useful for my little brother. cheers/

Could i put a Radeon HD4850 in there?

you really want to spend money on that pc?
You can better buy a new pc for a small budget...
How much you want to spend for your brother?
Even a pc from around 250$ (if you can find it) will be better.
You can't upgrade much, maybe the ram?

No not really, i wasnt lookig to spend. Its just that i wanted to see what i can put in it as im upgrading my newer Pc and hoping that the parts being replaced in that may fit and be compatable with the old pc.

To me that looks like an AGP card you have there (from the pictures), so if the motherboard is AGP and does not have any PCI Express slots then no, you cannot put a 4850 in there - as the 4850 was a PCI Express card, not AGP. That power supply won't run a 4850 either.

What is the exact make/model of the motherboard? Or can you at least show us a picture of the board?

Totally not worth it. The CPU will be bottlenecked, the PSU will need replacing and the motherboard pobably doesn't have a PCIe x 16 slot.
