So I am moving from

Intel 2 duo core T6600 2.20ghz
Nivida Geforce GT 240M
4 gigs of ram
500gigs of storage

To
Intel Core i7-4790 Processor 3.6GHz
32GB DDR3 SDRAM
2TB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti Graphics

I run on 1920x1080p

Will this be able to run arma 3 on high settings and how much of a difference is this upgrade going to make from my previous one?

Well I already ordered it, going to get a better graphics card next year, just wondering if this will be able to run arma on medium-high settings.

I would have recommended an i5 4690K and Z97 board, as well as only maybe at most 16 gigs of ram

Put the saved money into a GTX 970

Yeah this is pretty unbalanced...

32GB of RAM is completely pointless for gaming
Graphics card isn't that great compared to your CPU, but not terrible either

Darren, yes I know that but this a futureproof desktop. I am hoping to get a better graphics card next year, but can somebody tell me if this will run arma 3 well?

As stated, ask these things before ordering.

You could have used a lot of money from excessive RAM into a faster GPU or SSD.

I'm still rather new to the computer world. Who would be most suited to use 32GB RAM?

Video editors wouldn't even have a need for 32GB..

You'd have to have extremely intensive programs to use it all.. 8GB is the norm..

^ this is just wrong. Video Editing will absorb 32GB in a heartbeat.... Remember, Windows 7 and above utilises memory very differently. If you have 8GB it will manage everything below that, if you put 16GB, you will often see above 8GB utlisation....

OP, go here and select your settings and it will give you an idea of what hardware would be needed.

Given you have 32GB of RAM, I would set up a 24GB RAM disk that installs your ARMA3 on which will massively speed up texture loads. Also note this and ensure you're patched.

A 750Ti at 1080p will get sub 40FPS at High.
