Upgrading from the HD 7870

I was thinking of upgrading from my 7870 to a R9 290. Will I see a very noticeable differents? Also I heard they are releasing a 300 series soon, is it worth waiting for it? Is my current psu enough? My current specs.
Fx 8320 Black Edition
Motherboard gigabyte 990FX
GPU 7870
Corsair 600w
Ram rip jaw 8gb

It'll be a lot faster, they will probably push existing cards down in price too when the new ones drop.

I went from a 6970 -> 290 and it was a pretty huge jump which is similar to your situation.

Yeah I went from a 7850 to a 7970, which is equivalent to an R9 280X. Basically what you're doing but a notch down on each card comparatively. My performance nearly doubled. PSU is good.

Corsair 600W should be fine for your GPU upgrade.
