Upgrading Graphics Card, Need Help.

Hello! I bought a cyberpower pc a couple of months back, and am now deciding to upgrade the graphics card in it. Now the computer I bought is nothing special. The card in it now is not so good, and I am looking to buy this graphics card( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8991507&Sku= ) for it. The computer I purchased was http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2546170&Sku= . Im just confused if the computer I have will be able to run it? Are their cables I need to connect it? Sorry for my lack of knowledge in computers. I thank you for your time. :good::cool::)
 
Oh it'll work alright! It'll be pretty simple to install. I don't have much experience with XFX cards but those 3 free games look good.. I do +1 the MSI Twin Frozr though :rolleyes:
 
Depends on the model of the 500 watt power supply that is currently being used. I have a feeling its a cheap power supply. Provide the model number of the psu and we can tell you if you will need to upgrade it as well.
 
Again sorry for my lack of knowledge how do I check the model number for my power supply?

You'll take a high risk of doing damage to your system by not having enough power to run your video card. You'll blow the power supply and possibly other components.

I actually have 1 more quick question about cables. I know most graphics cards have the I believe 6 or 8 pin connectors to connect it to the power suply once in the machine, but from what I can see in my computer I dont have any of those cables on the side, or even connected to the card I have now?

Some cards do not require extra power and get enough power via the pci-e lanes. Those cards are most of the time not very powerful.
 
So if I buy a new power supply it will come with the cables required to plug the graphics card into it?

Yes, the correct power supply will have the pci express power connections for your video card. Those cheap OEM's usually don't. A decent unit would be the corsair cx500.
