Upgrading graphics card

After trying to find a video card upgrade here:

http://www.computerforum.com/147314-wtb-graphics-card-upgrade.html

I realised it was going off topic for the forum section so decided to move it to a more relevant place, atleast until more info comes out of it :P

So the situation is for those that can;t be bothered going through the other thread, i am after a video card upgrade from my 2 8600GTs and it has come out that for cost effectiveness and for what i need the best/cheapest way to go would be 9800GT.

I found these 2:

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...MHz-GDDR3-GPU-600MHz-112-Cores-2x-DL-DVI-HDTV

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-009-ZT&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1009

And am now wondering which is better?

I know that the scan.co.uk one has double the memory of the zotec one and same clock speeds on everything, however was wondering why is it so cheap in comparison to other 1GB 9800GTs?
Is the zotac one better/worse/comparable to that one?
and finally would one of these be better than my 2x asus 8600GT silent cards?

The 9800GT will run way better.

It has 4 times the shader processors alone, along with a larger framebuffer and newer architecture. You would see a performance increase with just 1 9800GT. I would go with the Palit and not only for the price and the memory. As long as you have good air flow, that aftermarket cooler would prove to be useful. Single slot coolers are terrible. As long as you have a means of removing the hot air, the Palit's cooler should prove to perform better.

I have an Arctic cooling accelero S1 on one of my graphics cards at the minute. Should i keep that and put it on the new card or should i sell that too aswell as my 2 8600s?

Your choice, they are both good coolers. I would note though, that the 9800GT will run way hotter than the 8600GT. If you decide to keep the Accelero, I would make sure that there is either a fan attached to the heatsink, or that there is a current of air running through it.

I have a 120mm fan on the side of my case that i cut+put in that blows onto video cards+northbridge, so the airflow isn't an issue.

Thanks for the advice :)
