Upgrading Laptop

I have an old Toshiba Satellite pro 4600 and I dont use it. Im not very good at computer hardware but know the basics and I built myself a rig about a year ago. The laptop currently has a pentium 3 processor, 256mb ram, 18gig hd. I really know nothing about laptop hardware so is it possible to upgrade a processor in a laptop? I have another 256mb of ram im gonna put in but that is the most that the mobo allows.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

I didn't see anything about upgrading the processor but I did see memory upgrades. You might want to look around though.

Your cooling solution can't really be upgrade dmuch, so a significantly faster processor is a no-go. Adding the extra ram will help. Also, if you could find a cheap 5400 rpm hard drive to replace that old, probably slow drive that would help as well. P3's are good chips.

Thanks
Im gonna get a new hd and put it in and put in the 256mb ram I have, should run faster. I wont replace the processor because of what you said about wiring problems and overheating etc.
