Upgrading monitor affect current video card performance?

Just go a brand new dual core with 2.88gb mem, vista & an Nvidia geforce 8600 GT OC card.

Im wondering though, when i upgrade my current 17'' monitor to a 24'', will the graphics card be able to run World of Warcraft, (only game i play) on the same settings..and maybe even higher resolution then current?.. Or, should i trade in this card that i just bought today for maybe the next step up?

Im worried that the new monitor resolution might conflict with the frame rate..it's a bigger monitor, so the card may have trouble displaying everything as smoothly as it did on my current (smaller) monitor... any insight?

Im curious if the current card I have is basically displaying Wow at the maximum it's got...in other words, am I seing the game at it's peak..or is there maybe another card thats perhaps $300 instead of $250 that could show me even greater frames per second/graphics for my money?

I was on budget of $250...but realised in 2 days could easily look to spend $300 instead..and i feel like i may have rushed it and now realize theres something better for just a little more cash.

it might have trouble running native resolution and maxed out but wow is not that demanding so that card might work.

Im running the specs at maxright now, apart from the multisampling. But should I expect it to run much slower on a bigger monitor?

Quick question then. Nvidia geforce 8800 gt is about $300..i believe. For that extra $50 is it an entire step up from the 8600. Or just a miniscule difference?

Yes the 8800 is quite abit better than a 8600GT, a 8600GTS will even woop the dog crap out of a 8600GT. The 8600GT is really pretty much a low in card.
