Upgrading my comp, Monitor problems

So i recently upgraded an old comp of mine. I put in a 430w psu and a XFX Radeon 5570 graphics card. When i turn it on it turns on but doesnt display anything on my monitor. Though when i plug it in to my other comp, it works. Could i have messed up with the psu? & thats why it isnt displaying anything? Or may it be the graphics card?

What exact model of power supply are you using? Have you tried a different video card to make sure the one you have isn't dead?

What exactly do you mean by this: "Though when i plug it in to my other comp, it works." Are you plugging in the psu or the video card? Did you make sure to disable the on-board video chip? Are you putting the card in the correct slot? Really not enough info you know...

alright. So what i meant by putting it into another computer, i meant i plugged in the monitor, and it turned on. When i plug the monitor into my recently upgraded comp, it doesnt turn on. The power button of the monitor stays orange. So i uninstalled the Graphics card, and the monitor turned on... so i think its the graphics card. BUT if the graphics card was dead, then would the fan turn on? Because when i turned on my upgraded computer the graphics cards fan turned on...

BTW - How do i turn off the MoBo's onboard video chip? That might work.

I would definately say you have a bad video card or a bad video card slot. Try another video card, borrow from someone if you have to, to see if its a bad card or bad slot.

im curious as to the card being set to the default display by the bios...tho are you certain your not getting any beep codes from the board when you boot?

What do you mean by beep codes? When i turn on the comp i cant see anything on the monitor so i'm not able to see any codes... when i turn it on there is a tick sound tho. Anyways if nothing works soon im going to take it to a computer repair shop near my house, and see if he can diagnose the problem.
