upgrading my computer HELP?

Had my Computer for nearly 2 years now and I want to upgrade wondering if anyone could help as I have no idea where to start, where is better to upgrade first I currently have 8.00gb ram my processor is - AMD A6 - 6400K APU with radeon(tm) HD Graphcis 3.90 GHZ. Also I am runiing Windows 10 Pro. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What speed of RAM? What specific motherboard?

You'd probably need to upgrade to a 6800K or similar for a reasonable gain. This would give you 2x more CPU resources and 3x more GPU resources.

I'm not to sure (how would I find that out, I bought this computer from Amazon) .... You wouldn't be to send me in the right direction to buy one would you?

Would need to know exact model number of pc you have to verify what cpu's would work in your system.

download CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html), click on "motherboard" and post the make and model of your motherboard, then we can go from there. Or the exact model number, but until we have that we can't really assess the situation thoroughly.

Per the supported CPU sheet it will support pretty much any FM2+ APU up through the 7870K, although you would need to flash BIOS beforehand to guarantee compatibility.

Go to Gigabytes product information page for your motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4990#bios

Go to support and downloads, and on the drop down menu choose BIOS. Then you would need to download the F3a version of your motherboards BIOS.
Just be careful when flashing. Make sure you do things right.
Follow this video if you need a visual guide. Usually Gigabyte boards are pretty easy to flash.

Once you flashed your board you can upgrade your CPU. Like beers explained.

Why exactly do you feel you need to upgrade?

For browsing the web and doing general stuff (i.e not gaming) this should be fine. If you want to upgrade for gaming I'd get a graphics card.

If it's feeling slow maybe get an SSD or reinstall Windows.

Hard to suggest what to do without knowing the end goal.

To be honest I never really looked into AMD's APUs. I never had much interest in them because I thought they'd be pretty shit to be honest. If it's a really bad CPU then maybe upgrade it.
