Upgrading my computer?

I've had my computer for about 1 and a half years now, and because i havent been spending my money, i've decided to upgrade. Here are my specs presently.

Intel Core2Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz
Penryn1600SLI-110dB Motherboard
4.00 GB Ram
9600GT Geforce 512mb
1TB HD and 750GB HD
HX 520W PSU

Im looking towards upgrading my graphics card and processor primarily, as my motherboard and power supply are both capable of upgrade and my motherboard supports SLI, and my ram is quite high already. I am aiming to cap it at around $1000-1500 for both if possible. Thanks in advance guys :)

- Oh and I am also running 64-bit Vista :P

For 1500 you could build yourself an entirely new computer that would be significantly better than whatever you could upgrade that to.

but it wouldent have a asus p6t motherboard, a coolermaster cosmos case,1000watt power supply, or a evga nvidia gtx 280 wouldent it?

он может получить все, что никаких проблем.

oh, and the shipping from Moscow would be absurdly high.

Please don't solicit sales in the support threads. If you have something for sale, you may advertise it in our for sale section after you reach 100 posts. Thanks.

Hahahaha thanks guys, yeah I think I am gonna pretty much have to make a new computer...
Is ddr3 ram worthwhile getting? and if so, what is a relatively good motherboard that can support ddr3 ram, an LGA 1366 processor slot and SLI graphics? And what kind of power supply would I need to support that kind of motherboard? 520W wouldn't do it would it? Thanks guys, any suggestions are appreciated.
