Upgrading my computer

Hey, didnt know where to put this thread, so its going here i guess.

I have a Athlon 2800+ (2.08 GHz), with 1.25 GB of DDR ram. I have a radeon 9200SE (128MB SDRAM). I dont know what to upgrade next. My computer maxes out at 2Gs of Ram and i was thinkin about replacin the 256 i got in there and goin for the gig stick, but i want to upgrade what would do the best for my performance from my current setup. Im a gamer, play WoW and such things, and im lookin for my games to run smoother. I feel like they should be running smoother then they are with my comp, but their not, so whatever. Ive also heard bad things about my radeon card, so i was thinkin about goin for a 512 card. I also dont want to spend more then $150. Opinions please!

I just joined these forums and at first it said i didnt have the right to post, and then it said i did, so sry if i posted this twice, it was out of confusion :(

Stop upgrading it now my friend...its not worth it.

save up for a new pc because if you spend anymore on that system it will be a waste of money imo :)

What socket is the CPU, and what socket is the GPU (AGP I assume? Anyhow WoW is mostly ram intensive, but your bottleneck is likely the graphics card, maybe the proccesor as I don't know much about the 9000 era of ATI cards, more than mine killed a PC ><....

Yeah probobly graphics then CPU then ram...

The CPU is a socket A, and im using a PCI vid card atm, but if i do upgrade itll be to a AGP one (the PCI was from my old AGP'less computer). and the reason i dont go out to buy a new computer is the lack of money im afraid to say, even getting $150 is tough for me seeing as i live in michigan where its impossible to get a job, expecially if yer underage like me :)

well i dont think theres realy much more you can upgrade on that system,You could buy a better Gfx card like you mentioned but i think you would be wasting your money in the long run.

It really depends. I had a friend playing 2142 at 12-18FPS who thought it looked awesome, personally it just has to look smooth and NOT like 1.6 as far as edges and textures. Besides that for a kid who is under 16 a whole new computer is WAY out of the question unless your family is loaded. I personally worked a summer to get mine.... Anyhow as far as a graphics card I would say stick with something cheaper, because you really dont want to sink tooooo much money into an older PC. (Link to my reccomended graphics card. x1650pro 256mb vram...) Also I dont know much about that proccesor, but it seems to me like it would be pointless to upgrade it, maybe look into an OC?

i personally think a new agp video card will show a huge improvement as long as its within reason. (in other words don't get an agp 9200 card) your ram is fine and more than capable to run any game you could possibley play on a system like that. My suggestion would be look into a really good agp card.
