Upgrading my Laptop

Hi,

I have a toshiba A75 satellite and I heard that it has problems with shutting down and overheating problems. I was wondering if i could somehow upgrade it or have my friend help me do it to replace certain things that are causing it to do that. Or if I can't, what could i replace in the laptop? My friend told me you can only upgrade very few parts but im not sure so some opinions would help :D
 
Theres not a lot of upgrading you can do. You can go buy some thermal paste and put a nice layer on top of the cpu and the fan.

If you don't want to get real complicated, get a air duster and clean out your vents of dust. Also you might want to get a cooling pad.
 
So...i cant change any fans or stuff and would the cooling pad help because I heard these laptops are known for having problems i've never heard anyone that has had a cooling pad though.
