Upgrading my old Ati Radeon 5770. (Help me)

Hello, im planning to upgrade my old Ati Radeon 5770. So my 2 options right now are:

Nvidia GTX 570 1.2GB OR Ati Radeon 6970 2GB (Old gpu's too, I know.) I've readed thousands of post and benchmarks between this two graphics cards and they are very very close. The GTX 570 seems slighly better. I think im going for it. THE THING IS... ¿Why the GTX 570 is faster than the HD6970? That doubt is killing me because if we look at the specs the HD6970 has ALOT more bandwith, texture fill rate, GFLOPS and memory and core clock.

So ¿the HD6970 isn't suppose to outperform by a large margin the GTX570? I've been told that higher the bandwith, textfill rate, gplops ETC. The better is the performance overall of the GPU. If anyone could anwser me so I can make my choice. ¡Thanks in advance!:D
 
Yeah, but thats a theorical comparison beetween both cards. When it comes to benchmarks in real world tests the GTX 570 gives the same(or higher) amount of FPS.

I though that the HD6970 with those HIGH specs would be a better choice, but in-real life tests the GTX 570 seems better. (just want someone to clarify this to me)

And I wish I could buy a newer card. I have to buy from people around me, I'm from Venezuela and it is really hard to afford 150-300$ to buy newer high end GPU from amazon.

Those are the cards that most fit my budged, the other ones like HD R9xxx series, Nvidia 7xx 9xx series are waaaaay over priced.

Anyways I plan to play low demanding games like Warframe, Blade&Soul stuff like that. I already max them out in my HD5770 with decent FPS but upgrading to one to those cards will be major gain in performance.

Keep in mind a lot of those bench marks and tests are from old drivers, Nvidia has always had way better drivers then AMD. I've owned both the GTX 570 and two different flavors of the 6970, I preferred the 570 all the way.
 
I'd take the 6970, you're already going to be VRAM limited in a reasonable amount of games.

I have a spare 6970 laying around if you were interested in any specific game benchmarks.
 
Well, as soon as I sell my HD5770 tomorrow, I'll make my choice.... So far gathering information from plenty of forums seems like they are equals. One is better in some aspects and the other is better in other aspects. As I am a AMD/ATI user, I think im gonna keep the tradition buying that HD6970! :cool: Thanks a lot for taking your time to anwser me, I'll let you guys know how it goes...
