Upgrading my processor..

Im going to upgrade my processor to a duel core, I need some help with this. I need advice on what to do, I have built my own computer before but I need to know things like compatibility, will my processor clash with my RAM and such? Here are my specs, if you know a good duel core AMD processor that would go with this (2.0 to 2.5 ect) for about 120$ (I can go up a bit).
Here are my specs, thanks so much for anyone who helps me with this ^_^
2 GB of RAM
Geforce 7600GS
Mobo = ASUS K8N-VM Socket 754 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD (Sorry its not on newegg anymore so I can't find its exact specs :()
Thats pretty much all I can think of anyone needing to know, but I need to know. How big a problem will compatibility be with the processors on my mobo? Are they fairly universal or will my motherboard not be able to upgrade to duel core? Thanks for the input :)

Well, I want to upgrade my processor so I can play Crysis, its 2.6 and the MINIMUM is 2.8 (estimated) Unless you guys think I'll be able to play it without lagging :( I don't think I'll be getting a new computer for a long while so if I cant upgrade my processor to something more powerful or dual core I wont be playing Crysis or any of those new super-high-requirement games :(

Edit: Some people seem to be speculating the requirements wont be as high so I can only cross my fingers and wait, if anyone finds anymore processors that could be potential please post them aswell, thanks again!
And also, I think 2 gigs of ram will go a long way and maybe even upgrading my video card too =/ We'll see.
