Upgrading my RAM - need advices plz

Hi, im new here and I have a question concerning RAM. My knowledge of the computer's world is very limited, so plz, use sentences that I will be able to understand :D Ok so here i go :

I actually have 768 mb of Ram (2 slots, 1rst=512 and 2nd=256) on my d845ebg2 motherboard. Ive read on intel's website that i can put 2 mb of ram in total. I'm using PC2700 DDR SDRAM and would like to change my actual setting to 2X1mb ram. Ive read that my motherboard is compatible with PC2100, PC2700, PC3200 and PC4000.

So i got some questions:

1. Are my informations correct?
2. What should i choose between 2100, 2700 and 3200?
3. Where can i find good Ram on the Internet for a decent price?

He has a D845EBG2.

1. Your information is mostly correct. Your board supprts 2GB max (4x512MB) of PC2100 (DDR266). You can put faster speeds in but they will not run faster than PC2100.
2. You can put more PC2700 in if you want. If it were me, I would get more PC2700.
3. Newegg is good if you live in the US.

I'm sure he meant 2GB especially when he has already stated the system has 768MB of RAM. Lots of people who have limited knowledge of computers put the MB instead of GB, there's no need to jump on someone who's new and makes a mistake.

Ya sorry i meant 2Gb of RAM

The only problem is that I only have 2 DIMM slots... so I ''have'' to buy 2x1GB. Im actually using PC2700... so is using PC3200 useless? I mean, will I waste my money by buying 2X1GB of PC3200 DDR SDRAM... if it cant run faster than 2100...

My mistake, it looks like the board can use 1GB modules but it hasn't been validated by Intel.

Unless you plan to upgrade to a system that can use PC3200, then yes it would be a waste buying PC3200 now.
