I own an HP DV5000 notebook computer. It's 5 or 6 years old and has a DVD burner currently. I'd like to upgrade it to a Blu-Ray drive. I don't need a Blu-Ray burner unless the price difference is minimal.
I'm here because I'm not sure how to shop for a replacement drive that will fit. Will any notebook Blu-Ray drive work? The bezel on my current drive is curved on the bottom to fit the shape of the computer, and it'd be nice to retain that but it's not really necessary. Any advice on how to shop for the drive, or specific recommendations are appreciated.
Also, are Blu-Rays rip-able? I like to keep one or two of my movies on the computer for when I travel.
