Here is my current build

Intel E4500 2.2ghz (OC'd@3ghz) /w ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
4gb G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L Mobo
ATI Radeon HD 5770
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I was going to do a simple CPU upgrade to an e8500 to keep this build going a little longer but they are stupidly over priced.

Im considering a Mobo/cpu/Ram change but I dont really want to pay a ton. Could I find a reasonable upgrade for all these parts at around $350 total?

Staying w/Intel?
Do you want to see what Intels Sandy Bridge platform brings in a couple weeks?
For about $350 right now:
Could probly get an AMD x6 if you need/want that.
Or something like an Intel Quad/1156 setup.

It will be a work computer during the day and a gaming computer during the night. Lots of WoW and BFBC2. The work is nothing, Word, Excel, and other light duties.

As many, I haven't kept up with things and feel lost once again as to what I should get. I don't mind switching to AMD if it's a better (cheaper) choice. I would like to be able to OC some, doesn't need to be huge. No plans to crossfire/sli.

If your going to be gaming,Especialy BC2 then get a Quad core..i had a Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz and it tear its way through BC2 with ease...i hear even though the E8400 is a good processor that it sometimes struggles with BC2 because its Dual core and BC2 is optimised for Quad core like alot of current games.

someone else suggested a Q9550. Would this be a better selection for the price?

A good processor,But still way overpriced even second hand from Ebay.

Id honestly just look into getting a used Q6600 GO from Ebay, you can pick them up for around £85...well thats what mine sold for anyway about a month or two back and considering id had it two years...thats not a bad return :P
