Upgrading to a asus gt630 questions

I currently have a S-5200d gateway computer i have an ASUS EN210 SILENT/DI/1GD3/V2(LP) GeForce 210 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card in it looking to upgrade to an ASUS GT630-2GD3 GeForce GT 630 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card. My cpu is a single core 2.8 pentium 4 but will soon be a dual core 3.2 pentium 4 4gb memory WMEOEMD945GPBG1 - Intel (Putton Bay) 945G Motherboard it only has a 300 watt psu but will soon be a 550 watt psu so plenty of power. Wondering if this system will be able to utilize the graphics card or if i should just stick with the one i have?

What are you planning to use it for? The GT 630 is pretty weak.

Rather than having 3 different threads all relating to the same PC, it probably would have been easier just to create a single thread in the Desktops section and ask all of your questions there. It looks to me like you're interested in upgrading your CPU and GPU?

Whilst the GT 630 is faster than what you've got now, it's still a pretty weak card for gaming because it's quite low-end.

Are you going to be gaming? If so, what games, and what settings? It would be good to know what resolution you want to play at, too.

If you just want to get a display output, then you may as well stick with what you have now.

If the card you have now is low profile, it's likely that you may need to get another low profile card because it may not fit in your case. Can you provide some photos of the inside of your case?

ya i suppose i could of made one thread kind of new to the forum thing. Like i said this is just my fun computer the newest game i play is battlefield 2 and it can almost play it on max setting but not with a reliable frame rate. I plan on playing with all settings maxed with a reliable frame rate is my goal. like is said this is a gateway s 5200D. This is an older computer an 05 nothing special i use to play LAN with my friends playing older games such as battlefield 2 call of duty star wars battlefront nothing to serious i do occasionally go online as well. I cant watch 720p videos on you tube using chrome either which bugs me mi using a 17 inch hp monitor at 1280x1084 res in the future i wouldn't mind getting a 20-24 inch 720p monitor. i bought the 210 because of my power unit not so much because there inst room in there for a larger one. yes i know the 630 is weak but its the right price and much better than what i have. I do have a gaming tower already this is just a hobby/interest to upgrade this computer.ill be getting some pictures of the inside of my case soon. Later this week im getting a new processor and heat sink so it will look a bit different. wiring is a bit of a mess plan to clean it up when i put in my new processor and heat sink. The 210 is actually a lot taller than the 630 but the 630 is wider but i have room for it horizontal it will actually be better not having it so tall vertical wise. Also when i get the pentium d 840 3.2 dual core will i need to upgrade the bios or do anything compatibility wise for the new cpu?

You might need to do a BIOS upgrade to support the new CPU. I'd advise you try to update BIOS before you install your new CPU.

At 1280x1024 I think you'd be OK with the GT 630. You may need to upgrade your power supply though. Corsair CX 430M would be ideal.

Im working with pci 2.0x16 and gddr3 this is about the best card that i can find, if you can find any better i would definitely take a look. Also a question which is better a 128 bit memory and 96 cuda cores or 64 bit memory and 384 cuda cores. Any ideas on how to go about updating my bios?? Never done it before on such an uncustomizable computer. Any help would be appreciated my mother board is a d945dpb. Ive kinda looked around but all i get are these websites that say theres a lot of updates i need and then they want to pay 30-50 for a subscription im sure this isnt the only way to upgrade an old computer is it?
