hey everybody, so i have a corsair builder series 500watt power supply

had a problem with stock amd heatsink, and am replacing with corsair h60 my question is with the added pump (no idea of the power draw) am ok?

current setup:

amd phenom 2 965 black edition 3.4ghz
8gb ddr3 corsair 1600mhz
nvidia gtx 460 FTW
dvd drive
5400rpm hdd + 7200 rpm hdd
some nzxt led case lights
3 coolermaster 3 speed case fans

currently (according to a ps calc im maxing out at 410 watts) dunno how far i trust these things tho.

thanks ;)

The pump should not make any difference. What 500W power supply do you have. There is a big difference in a cheap one and quality one.

i think you would be fine...i ran two 9800GTX+ cards off a iffy 550W psu and a 125W cpu...was unstable at times but i think i was overheating a little too.

Just for the record the H60 is inferior the H50 and H70. Don't know why Corsair bothered making them. For the price, you can get a better air cooler

That PSU has 34A on the 12V rail so you will be fine, but watch the temps, as it is only rated at 30oC.

thanks for the replys,

my case is reasonably well cooled, so shouldn't be an issue maintaining 30 degrees.

linkin--- how do you mean inferior? from the benches ive seen it sits right in the middle of the h50 and h70?

StrangleHold-- its a corsair --http://www.corsair.com/power-supplies/non-modular-psus/builder-series/builder-series-cx500.html

Benches/reviews are not 100% indicative of real world results. Air coolers like the Thermalright Silver Arrow and Noctua NH-D14 are superior for the same price.

The CX500 is okay, I'd get a Seasonic though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096
