as the title says im looking to upgrade my hard drive to a ssd in the next few months and i was wondering what would be the smarter thing to do get 2 64GB Patriot Inferno PI60GS25SSDR 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC and Raid0 them or would should i just go with 1 120GB ssd have? im going to do a fresh instll of window 7 and my main apps so as in itunes, microsoft office, avg stuff of that source then with my current hhd ill raid 0 them too.. thanks in advance everyone!!

honestly id just go with the single drive vs the multi drives, ssds as they are are plenty fast, and raid to me is unnecessary.

what?

get the two 64gb ssd's.the one 120gb ssd would be only 3/4(if not slower) the speed of the two 64gb ssd's, and with 8 more gigs(if its the 64gb,not the 60gb), for around the same price.i cant see way someone would say go with 1 ssd.more is always better.

ive heard with 2 ssd you double the speed tho and the extra 8gb would be nice too compared to the the 1 but dont you lose something if you raid0 ssd?

If you go the raid 0 setup then back up your data every few days cause if one drive dies, you lose all your data.

One thing to get out of it there are so many writes. Its been talked about here and fast with speed transfers. I have one but pending yet because of constraints right now. I did like the idea and suggestion and what i will do i will use my Intel 80gig and Seagate as i have now as primary and secondary.
It was suggested because so many writes only to install your system, updates, what to turn off, programs you use often on the SSD. All others seldom used go on the backup. I also think raid 0 will terminate closely at the same time with two. here's an excellent article about installing and setup, maintaining life for SSD. Do's and do not.
