Upgrading Video Cards

Hey,
I have a ATI Radeon 9600 SE, and I wanted to now if it would be smart to upgrade to a Radeon 9800 Pro or XP (mainly to run HL2 better) I dont really want to spend over 300 dollars for a new card. Any suggestions...
 
While the Radeon 9800 series will give you an improvement ... its not worth the upgrade path now. Firstly, you can get a 6600GT in the $200 range and secondaly if you do end up spending $300ish you can score 6800s and 6800GTs if you're lucky (just stay away from the ASUS V9999GT)
