uploading something on to an MP3 player

I downloaded something on to my laptop, it's in desktop. What I want to do is put it on my MP3 player.

I'm a beginner when it comes to computers keep in mind

Also besides putting it on an MP3 player is it a good idea to put it on something else, for example an MP4 player or something. I have no idea

What did you download? As long as the MP3 player will play whatever you put on it then you are fine. You can also put that file on a usb flash drive or what have you.

The MP3 player that I have atm plays anything.
