I just got an ipod video for christmas and am curious...is there a way to upload videos to it without having to purchase them in the itunes store? I have videos on my comp of my band playing and I'd love to carry 'em around on my ipod. I'm trying to click "file" and "add files to library" and then browsing my comp to find em...i can find em and click 'em and click open...but nothing seems to happen. Any ideas?

oh and another weird thing, when i was home for the holidays I purchased an episode of southpark thru my itunes store account. is there a way for me to access it from my other computer at college where I live now?

Add the video file, which should be on your computer, to iTunes like a song and it will appear in the movie section

I've also tried doing the "import" thing from the "file" menu, and plain old dragging and dropping, but the cursor turns into the crossed-out circle symbol when I bring it over itunes.

the videos have to be converted so they will play on your ipod. do a search for ipod video converter. there's ton's of them.

If you search for 'Videora Ipod Convertor' you will find what you're looking for.
The movie files on your PC, or DVD files for that matter need to be converted to the file format M-PEG4 which is recognised by the ipod.
It takes a while to convert but watching 'Christmas weith the Kraks' was worth the wait. I hope this help. Donks
