Upraded Power supply HP Q6600

I had the power supply upgraded from 300w to 400w for a new video card I will be installing. Now when I power up the computer, it starts then it stops and then starts again and all is ok. Need to know if this is normal or did I do something wrong on the installation of the power supply?

No, it doesn't sound normal. What else do you have in your computer? Putting that info in your signature will help people to know more about your situation. Without knowing more, you may need more power, could be a bad power supply. But, check to make sure all the power connectors are secure in the meantime.

It is an HP M9040N (Q6600). Came with 3 gig ram, 8400GT. I am changing the PSU so I can change the graphics card to a 9600GT SSC. I am taking it back in today to have the guy check it out.
