this weekend i'm ordering some new parts
planning to switch to socket 939 instead of 754

ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2000MHz HT 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor

POWERCOLOR 1600XTBRAVO256 Radeon X1600XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 CrossFire Ready Video Card

This seem ok?
another question.. when i get these parts what should i do before i install while i'm on my computer (before i shut it down)

Might be a bit more money but try to swing for an am2 socket board. This will cause you to buy new ram for the ddr2 mobo but personally I think it would be worth it. As in what you do to put new parts in not for sure.
 
I would also go for the AM2, the stuff you are getting is not much of an upgrade- i have the same board and CPU, and they are great, but i dont think you will notice much of a difference, except with your vid card.
