Urgant Help Needed

Hello im new to these forums, and im in a bit of a pickle. I am at a house of a friend of mine who has paid me to fix their PC, the only problem is its a presario 5000 and it sucks lol, now i wana format the drive and install XP that they got from the store, now everytime i pop in the CD at the boot all i get is an OLD version of Caldera DR-DOS and me never worked with such a thing usualy im used to the boot prompting to setup but i dont get that, whats the command line for starting windows setup through DOS at the begening of the boot so i can reformat and install windows again please help, i cant leave without doing this lol . thanks

the bios is set to bootup cd...... the windows xp cd should boot right up and guide you for what to do.... neve rheard of dos medthods...u sure u got right disk..
 
yeah for sure, its a windows XP CD, i even restarted the BIOS battery and same thing happens Caldera DOS comes up and prompts me to do something. i dont get it. is there anything i can do, i know my PC that i braught with me and im using it caldera dos doesnt even come up takes me right away to the Setup screen. is there no command line to start up the setup
