URGENT:Firefox won't load, IE7 won't download

I have a problem with a HP dv5000 laptop. Firefox 3.0 won't start, and IE7 won't let me download anything, or post anything on here. I'm using a different computer right now. And the most urgent thing is that I can't access the My Documents.


Need help immediately. Please.
 
Ah.. nvm. I found a fix. Took me 5 hours to figure it out.

I went and boot the XP Home Edition in Safe Mode.

1. Boot to Safe Mode.
2. Login.
3. Goto C:\Documents and Settings
4. Right click on the user that was infected.
5. Click on Security Tab
6. Click on Advance
7. Then under the owner tab, click on the one that has your username.
8. Also click on that little tick box at the bottom of the window. (can't remember what it said, but there's only one tick box)
9. Click ok, including the popup it will give you after you clicked ok.
10. Wait, and done.

This was what I did and it seemed to work. This was also the reason why it didn't allow my IE7 to download anything as the Temporary Internet File is located in your user's Local Settings. Then I just reinstalled Firefox and it seems to be back to normal.

Oh well, I guess i solved my problem. Thanks for the reply though.
