My pc has been beeping, i reinstalled XP Pro, and its still beeping, my pc is pretty cool i think, i have got a house fan blowing into the case and a case fan blowing into the pc, i have just reinstalled XP just this second and started from scratch, and its still beeping, then my pc froze and restarted the pc and a LIGHT BLUE SCREEN appeared, and said something like

' NTFS' ' One Disk Needs To Be Checked For Consistency

then it scanned files with something begging with CHK

***When it beeps it freezes the pc for a split second which is VERY anoying.!!

Any Ideas?? PLZ?

My first guess would be a motherboard going bad. I think because of the beeps it's definately a hardware issue rather than a software one, given the fact it's doing it with fresh OS installations.

Is the beeping in a pattern? Because usually motherboards beep out a kind of morse code that can be deciphered to see where the problem's coming from. You'd have to have your motherboard model handy.

ok it hasn't beeped in about 3 minutes but sometimes it can beep once then stop for about 3 seconds then beep again, this patern can go on about 10 times then stop for abit, then sometimes when im on games it beeps alot more then freezes then sometimes it goes onto a blue screen.

but its anoying me bcoz wen it beeps it freezes my pc for say 3 seconds.

its noy beeping at the moment (but this is unusual) but my pc still beeling slugish, (wereas it wshould be very fast bcoz ive just reinstaled XP PRO.

i donty know what it is its doin my head in

Can you tell me the hardware in your machine, and whether you've changed any hardware just before the problem started? You could try resetting the CMOS jumper on the motherboard. If you could give me an idea of your level of pc knowledge, I can tailor the level of detail a little better. Eg. resetting the jumper.

Hi, i'm a noob at pcs really, but i know i have these specifications;

AMD 3200+
ASUS Motherboard
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128mb
1.5 Gig of Ram, 512mb x 3.
120 HD

I have not changed any hardware, its nothing what iv'e done.

Im still getting the same beeping noise ova and ova gain, but now i cant even go on my pc, when i turn on my pc it goes on the main black screen and says at the bottom in writing 'a disk read error occured' and it says press ctrl alt del to restart the pc i press them buttons and it restarts the pc and the same thing happens, pc beeps and i go on tht same black screen with 'a disk error has occured'

when i was on my pc yesterday wen my pc was freezing and restarting, it would restart saying on a blue screen 'NTFS' 'One of the Disks needs to be checked for consistency ' Then it says somehting like CHKDSK.

**** At first i thought the beeping and the freezing was due to overheating of the processor, but is it that my hard drive is faulty? and i need to buy a new one??

Can some1 plz reply i need as many oppinions as possible.

Thanks
