urgent help needed

i have just deleted a partition from my hard drive and now my computer wont boot to the os. is there anyway to do a system restore from the bios? i dont have a windows install disk

windows could not start because of the following file is missing or corrupt

<windows root> system 32\hal.dll.

please re install a copy of the above file


anyone?

while using a live cd of linux.
Extract to windows partition>>WINDOWS>>System32>>
Reboot, and see if it works.

Or if that doesn't work, and if you have the windows CD, you can do a repair install. All of your data and installed programs will still be there.
