my friends dad got his laptop stolen and just got his laptop back. is there any way to see what files were opened? the IE history is deleted so we dont know what web pages were surfed.

If the temporary internet files are deleted then no. Was the laptop for business use? Did it have sensitive information on it? If not then I wouldn't worry about that stuff, just be happy he got it back.

For future use he should get a service like Lojack (sp) so that his laptop is more secure/safer if anything like this ever occurs again. I don't think there is anyway to trace what files have been viewed or executed. I hope he makes his clients aware of the issue with or without knowing what went on.

thats not my business, thats up to him. thanks for the help though! ill tell him about lojack, but its kinda pointless now.
