Urgent Help!

My laptop won't start up at all. It was only bought yesterday. There is an error message after it has come up with the Windows XP start up logo, so there is no way I can get on my username. What can I do to completely reset my laptop because, as I have said, there is no way I can get on. I have tried putting it on Safe Mode and the Last Known Setting which works.

I don't know whether some virus which I picked up somehow might have affected the laptop.

Can anyone help to reset my laptop completely or is there an alternate way round it. I need help urgently, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Since you only bought it yestarday, i would just return it and get a new one.

If you have a windows xp cd try using that or since it is probably still under warrantry bring it back to the store and ask them to fix it.

why not return it? if its new its the best option, demand a replacement, problem solved

It's an Acer one. There is a computer store by my house which I can go to. Thanks for your help
