URGENT!! Is there a way to restore a user account in XP

This is urgent... my wife is going to leave me if I can't fix this..

Lastnight I deleted my wife's user account on our computer (running XP PRO SP2) and I saved the files when prompted (e.i. save desktop and my documents folder from this user). Today, when she logged on to the main user account, she says none of the files are there.

We had the past 5 years of pictures/files along with our newborn pictures under her account and I assumed they would be saved over. She has told me that she will leave me if I can't find all of these memories!!!!

PLEASE!!! CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!! ??????

I have told her to not even start the computer in case the files are out there on the free space of the harddrive... but I don't want to start the thing back up until I have a solid fix in place.

Have you tried searching for a file/picture that you have lost?

might be relevent - I can't test it as I'm running windows on a mac and I don't think any of that is possible.

You need to get a third party recovery utility, which is not free. I suggest Data Rescue PC. It works great in my personal experiences with it.
