The HDD-in-use light on the Beast had been rapidly blinking (like a strobe) for 2 days straight now and 4GB of my HDD has disappeared. I have no viruses, and I don't use it as a server/VM so I do not know what is going on.

What OS are you using? And have you restarted? Any updates going on in the background?

From your comment in another thread "The RAM on the Beast is filling up quickly because I install a lot of crap and there are three family users.", you may just have lots of tasks running and/or updating in the background.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit SP1. I do not have any background updates and this PC has been running for about a week straight now.

How do you know you don't have any viruses/malware? What programs have you used to scan with? Have you rebooted the system? Have you checked task manager for anything suspicious? Lots of questions need answered here.

Can you take a screenshot of the performance tab of task manager and post it here? Listing the processes would be helpful as well.

Go back to the processes tab and click on show processes from all users and retake the screenshot.

My mistake, I was thinking of Windows 8 which has the hard drive performance in task manager. Your RAM and CPU usage look normal, and 82 processes isn't too high.

You could also take a shot from Resource Monitor on 7 that gives you a lot of the same process info.

And have you restarted?
I totally read that as 'are you retarded'... ;)

Agreed. From what I can see you've got nearly 6GB of 8GB free.
