Hi

I have created my own web page and have purchased a domain name form Godaddy how do I get my webpage on to my domain name.

Many Many thanks

Is the web page stored on your computer? You need web hosting, in addition to a domain name. GoDaddy offers web hosting as well.

You'll need web hosting.

GoDaddy do offer hosting, as OMEGA points out. Although to be honest GoDaddy aren't the best of hosts out there IMO.

I'd suggest that you visit WebHostingTalk.com and look around there and see what names come up and go from there.

Once you've decided on a host, sign-up with them. You'll then need to change your domain's nameservers to the nameserver information that your host gives you. For a guide on how to do this, check out: http://help.godaddy.com/article/664 (in Step 5, choose "I have specific nameservers for my domains" when you come to it)

This then points your domain name to your hosting space.

The final thing to do is upload your website's files. The most common way to do this is to use an FTP program, such as: http://filezilla-project.org/

It looks complicated at first, although it's not too bad. You simply startup the program (once downloaded and installed), enter the FTP information that your host given you, then transfer your website to your hosting space. FTP is a little like having two Windows Explorer windows open and dragging some files (i.e. your website on your computer) to the other window (i.e. your webspace). You can always ask your host on this step.

Hope this helps.
