Usb 1.0?

I just purchased a 20GB jump drive. It works fine with my XP system (plug and play) but not so much with my ME system. I installed the driver from the disc which came with it but when I click on "removable disk G" on MyComputer it says "please insert disc into drive G". The system requirements state that it must be USB 2.0 compliant but the vendor I purchased it from says he has used it with USB 1.1 though not specifically with Windows ME. If I have USB 1.0 ports could this be the problem? How does one tell what version USB port they have? Is there anyway to overcome this problem? If not, what is the best way to trasfer alot of files from one computer to another?

If you installed the driver which came from the disc, then this driver must have been intended for USB 2. Try uninstalling the driver and plug the jump drive back. Win ME has it's own native drivers for removable drives and it may work without it.
