USB 2.0 enabled?

Finally got my new system assembled and running. ( P4 3.4 dual core, intel 845P mobo, 520watt PSU,
2 gig ram, Nvidia 7900GT, 200 gig SATA)

there was instruction with the mobo saying that after installing SP2 you still needed to go into device manager and select USB controler and update driver to enable High Speed USB 2.0. I did this and got reply that no better driver could be found. Is there a way to check that indeed 2.0 is enabled?

Also how much HD space is XP suppose to use up. properties shows my 200gig hard drive as 189g with 121g available this is with only installing XP, drivers, nero, and my music less than 100 songs. Is this normal? Seems like XP gobbled up more space than I remember.

that sounds like way too much, try a defrag to get it back, I can't think of any reason why that much space should have been used up

The 189GB is an accurate figure of how much capacity the drive should have. But Windows definately doesn't take up 68GB on its own. Like suprasteve said, try a defragment, if that deoesn't work, perhaps browse folders, finding out how much is taken up as you go, maybe you can narrow down where this weird reading is coming from.
