I've currently got a USB hub, however whenever I plug a High Speed USB 2.0 device into it like an external Western Digital Hard Drive, Windows XP tells me that this device could operate faster if I plugged it into my actual laptop.
I know very little about the whole USB thing and so I'm a bit stumped. What I need is a hub which can support 4+ High Speed USB 2.0 devices (such as external drives) without suffering a transfer rate reduction. I'm looking for the 480 Mbps t/r advertised with USB 2.0 (but through a hub). Is this possible with today's technology? Will Windows XP allow me to acquire these rates through a hub? I need some answers and I hope I came to the right place!
