USB 2.0 vs Firewire

Even though USB 2.0 is rated higher for transfer and read rates... why do they say that Firewire is faster? This is for transfer data from a Video camera to a PC btw.

FireWire is faster, which can transfer up to 800Mbps, vs the 480Mbps of USB 2.0. However due to driver issues, USB 2.0 only has a max throughput of around 25MBps. FireWire is more consistent with the speeds and can easily reach the max throughput.

Not to say you are wrong, but thats firewire 800, it could be firewire 400.

usb and firewire. I say firewire is the best. USB and Firewire are the 2 choices.

Depends if you mean Firewire 400 or 800. Firewire is best for transferring data, such as large videos from a camcorder. USB is more for PnP devices, ease of installation, and has many more devices available for it.
