USB 3.0 Issues

I just purchased a Seagate 2tb USB 3.0 capable external storage drive. My motherboad (Asus P8P67 Evo) has 2 USB 3.0 ports. I for some reason cannot get my computer to recognize the hard drive via the 3.0 ports, but I can with the 2.0 ports. I have USB 3.0 enabled in my BIOS, so I'm really not too sure what the issue is. I bought this mainly because it was USB 3.0 so it would be pointless if I can only use it on my 2.0 ports.

I rolled back to the 1.04 drivers and it works every now and then. I'm disappointed too.

Is it the same Etron controller? I would go to Asus's website and download the most up-to-date drivers there.

Honestly I have no idea how to check what controller I have, or how to roll the drivers back. I've never had to mess with any drivers before for USB problems so this is pretty foreign territory for me. I suppose that could be the problem though

Go into device manager and find the usb 3 driver and see what version is installed. There are 2 versions listed on Asus website.

Perhaps a silly question...but once downloaded and extracted how to I install the driver?

There is a setup file inside the folder you click on and it will automatically install.
