USB a/v remote

I am looking for a USB IR transmitter device along with remote control software in order to control my TV and other electronics. I am using a PC. Where can I find such a thing that is simple to use and reliable?
 
I am not sure but I think I've seen something like that in a magazine I read called Home Theater. I would suggest posting this on a home theater forum to get a speedier answer.
 
Are you running XP or Vista? I know for XP Media Center Edition they have a remote and receiver setup you can purchase, Ive always sort of wanted one but didnt know if it only worked with MCE or not
