USB and PS/2 selectors

I need to find a product that has one usb input and two outputs with a switch to select which way the signal goes. I have a usb device that I want to use with two computers.

Please note that I could make one of these myself, but I just don't have the directions.

Please excuse how confusing this might sound, I can clarify if needed. Thanks.
 
Yes. Confusing. Please explain exactly what you're trying to accomplish. If you wish to use one mouse and keyboard for two different computer, please check out Synergy. It rocks.
 
The problem with a KVM switch is that all of the dvi ones are $100+. I need dvi opposed to VGA.

Oh. Well, I don't know what to tell you. I guess you'll have to cough up the extra $$$ or do without. :P

I can't really think of any other solution - you could buy three DVI-VGA converters for like $5 apiece, but it's going to be an analog signal after the box, so I'm not sure if this would work well or at all...

I guess you could use remote desktop software such as RealVNC in full screen mode to access one computer from the other - essentially, this would enable you to use your keyboard, mouse and monitor for both computers simultaneously. But the display won't be great, and there may be lag from the remote computer, even on a local network .

You could buy VGA cards too, but that's kind of pointless, since the idea is to save money...

If I think of something else I'll post back.
 
Yeah, that's the answer I expected. Oh well.

I have used VNC in the past and it's not exactly what I want to use for obvious reasons.
