USB Card Question...

I've got this generic PCI card with 4 external/1 internal USB ports and 2 external/1 internal firewire ports. My question is, what is/are these prongs boxed in yellow? It looks like the same type of connection as the USB or firewire port that would be on a motherboard. I've connected a card reader to them and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

That's what I thought too. I've pulled out a voltmeter and tinkered. Power is going to the prongs, but when I plug a USB cable onto it and try to use a USB item, I get nothing.

maybe those pins is where you can use an extra media reader kind wire usb to wired it from the pci usb card to the mobo usb pins.

Are you using all the connectors in the back? try unplugging the ones from the back of the card, then try using the ones on the card. The plugs may be shared, so only 1 can be used at a time. ANd also make sure your hooking them up the right way, because there is only one way to hook them up.
